The UK & Ireland queer choral festival "Hand in Hand" returned with a bang, hosted in the lovely city of Bristol. The Barbies performed in the opening concert in Beacon Hall on Friday 16 August 2024, followed by a street performance on the Cascades on the Sunday morning, 18 August 2024.
Our annual concert on 16 March 2024 took the form of the first installment in a series of 3 concerts, beginning right here in London before future installments in Berlin and Helsinki. The (choirs)³ concert brought together our guests the Friends of Dorothy from Finland and Kleine Berliner Chorversuchung from Germany.
In what has become an annual highlight for the Barberfellas performed for our friends in Opening Doors, the only charity in the UK dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ people over 50, on 13 December 2023 at the Museum of the Home, Hoxton.
On 2 December 2023 the Barberfellas sang with our friends Hinsegin kórinn - Reykjavík Queer Choir at our joint concert Heims um kór – Hinsegin kórinn og vinir at the Guðríðarkirkja in Rekjavik. We shared seasonal joy and it was really like coming home for Christmas!
14 June 2023 was the pinnacle of our year so far when the Barberfellas perform on stage in the massive Arena del Sole in Bologna for the four-yearly Various Voices festival celebrating European queer choirs. It also marked the debut of our new tenor, Elin!
What an incredible acoustic and what a privilege to sing for a select audience at the Museo della Musica on 14 December 2023 as part of Various Voices.
11 June 2023 and the Barberfellas spent a hot day in Bergamo preparing for our concert in the beautiful cloisters of the Teatro Tascabile. It rained and the entire show was moved to one of the sheltered corners. This has gone down as one of the most intimate performances we ahve ever done!
For Pride 2023, the Barberfellas travel to Mumbai, India, to sing with our friend Rainbow Voices Mumbai at their concert "Hum Rang Hai" (We Are Colour) at G5A Warehouse, Shakti Mills on 11 Feb 2023.
The Barberfellas perform on World AIDS Day 1 Dec 2022 at the Red Ribbon Cabaret, a fundraiser for Wandsworth Oasis at the Two Brewers. We had an amazing time surrounded by such impressive talent, and all for a great cause!
It is 10 October 2022 and the Barberfellas head to Leyton Orient Football Club where we sing for ELOP LGBT Mental Health and Wellbeing.
On 2 October 2022, the Barberfellas perform at the inaugural Silver Pride for Opening Doors London. We perform a set at the tea dance held at the Walthamstow Trades Hall.
The Barberfellas go back on tour again, and with a bang! We headed to Estonia and Finland where we sang with not one, not two but three choral friends: Vikerlased from Tallinn and Out 'n Loud and the Friends of Dorothy from Helsinki. We also hung out with the Helsinki Queer Feminist choir and marched with them at Helsinki Pride.
9 April 2022 marked our formal return to the stage as we celebrated our belated 12th anniverary in front of an audience of friends, family and fans.
Pride 2021 and the first time the Barberfellas had performed in public since the start of the pandemic. What a great feeling it was to be performing again! 11 July 2021.
World AIDS Day 2019 and the Barberfellas sing at a benefit concert for ELOP LGBT Mental Health and Positive East on 29 November 2019.
The Barberfellas spend an amazing weekend with our LGBT choral buddies from across the UK & Ireland at Hand in Hand Cardiff 2019 which took place on 17 and 18 August 2019.
27 July 2019. It rained but that didn't dampen the spirits when the Barberfellas sang at the Barrel Store for Waltham Forest Pride.
It is a cold 30 May 2019 when the Barberfellas swing into Trondheim, Norway for the "Queer Encouncers" concert with our friends Kor Hen.
Marking imminent Brexit, the Barberfellas invite Melodiva from Munich and Komos from Bologna to join us at our annual concert, this time titled LovEU LeavEU, on 23 March 2019. It was also a special fundraiser for our partner charities Mosaic LGBT+ Youth Centre and Opening Doors London.
Christmas was almost here on 18 December 2018, and in what has become an annual tradition we sang for Opening Doors London at their Christmas Carol.
It is 29 November 2018, and to mark World AIDS Day the Barberfellas put on a special fundraiser performance for the East London Out Project and Positive East in Bethnal Green.

It was an incredible honour for us to be invited to Perugia where we sang with our hosts Omphalos Voices, as well as Choreos from Florence and the Roma Rainbow Choir, in the historic Sala Dei Notari to mark IDAHOTB in May 2018.
We headed to Munich in May 2018 for the LGBT choral jamboree which is Various Voices and end up appearing on German TV!
For "the Rainbow Connection", our second ever concert in London in April 2018, we were joined by Laura & the Lesbians, Rainbow Singers Across Borders and London Trans Choir, and raised over £1000 for the Kaleidoscope Trust and Rainbows Across Borders.

We took part in a special fundraiser for the Russian LGBT Network and their work for the #chechnya100 in July 2017, and fulfilled a lifelong dream to sing "Glad To Be Gay" with Tom Robinson!
We colour co-ordinated at the Southbank Centre Chorus Festival in July 2017.
We travelled to Hong Kong and took the best selife ever at the Sing As One Concert with our friends from the Harmonics and Elements Choir.
We had a great reception as the guests of Note-Orious at the Dulwich Festival of Choirs in May 2017.
We performed in the beautiful Capella Farnese in the Palazzo d'Accursio in Bologna as the guests of Komos - coro gay di Bologna in April 2017.
Payback was the first ever concert we organized in London, at Amnesty International, and we were joined by our friends HeadQuarters, Homonics, Pride & Joy and the Southampton Gay Men's Chorus in April 2017. The charity performance also raised £1500 for the Pink Singers India 2017 project.
A quartet provided the musical entertainment for NBC Universal Cares Day in support of Opening Doors London.
